STUDY 500 / 1200: VIRTUALLY… ANY STUDENT, ANY TUTOR,
ANY INSTRUCTOR, ANY DISCIPLINE, ANY TIME, ANY WHERE
Sanako's Study platform is a server-based application which brings an extensive range of collaborative and
integrated learning tools for teaching and learning in class or from remote locations.
The system includes a Voice-Over-
Internet Protocol (VOIP) and
Crossroad File Transfer Protocol
(FTP) Server which services a
virtually unlimited combination of
tutors / members working in up to
six separate environments (groups),
regardless of a member’s physical
location. Study users share
digital resources, while conversing
orally, with the following facilities:
Browsers: The Study web
browser functions as any standard
web browser. Additionally, tutors
control the members' Internet navi-
gation by switching to the tutor-led
navigation mode.
Applications/Files sharing: Tutors may
store and catalog their own files and
files for each group. Once part of the
Lounge environment, group members may access and use the files stored in the group's folder.
Tools: Tutors may conduct multiple-choice exams then view – and share – an aggregate graphic display of
members' answers in a bar graph.
Group Whiteboards: The Study whiteboards function as a traditional chalkboard; the members view the board as
the tutor creates the content.
Chat Room: The integrated chat room provides for written intercommunication in each lesson environment.
Pictures and extracts of text may be copied to the chat message from applications external to the program. The
tutor and members may make the chat public or private by selecting the message recipient(s).
Audio capabilities, will vary with Study version:
Monitor – listen to a selected member's microphone.
Discuss – listen to and talk with a selected member.
Group Call – you talk to all the members in the group. The
microphones of the members of the selected group are muted.
All Call – you talk to all the members in the lesson. The microphones
of all lesson members are muted.
