DIGICALL Spectrum: designed for today, ready for tomorrow
Today’s learning center must incorporate functions that allow you to effortlessly take advantage of existing
analog media and the latest digital technology.  You also need a learning center that allows your system to
grow as technology and your programs evolve – but one which accommodates limited budgets.

Digicall Spectrum® wireless and portable audio system represents the ultimate blend of
crystal-clear 900MHz audio with the efficiency, convenience, and flexibility
of wireless portability  – all without a room antenna and interference.

From its self-contained, mobile cabinet, integrated audio-video lesson
sources, student transceiver, to its teacher headset,
Spectrum is designed for a teaching environment.

For over 50 years – and six generations
of systems –  engineers and designers
have worked with educators to serve
                                            language teachers with systems
                                            perfectly matched to their needs.

IN THE BEGINNING, CONSIDER THIS
There is no lower total-cost audio language lab:  Out of the box,
Spectrum is the most cost effective audio-active, expandable audio
lab. Plus, when you consider Spectrum may be used in any room,
needs no special installation nor furniture, that lesson sources may be
added, and its cost effectiveness grows exponentially.
You have maximum flexibility and convenience:  Secured in it’s own cabinet,
Digicall Spectrum system may be moved to any room for immediate use as an audio
lab – or even as a temporary public address system.
You’re using your system within one day:  Set up is as easy as moving it into a room, plugging it in, and
passing out  student transceivers. Teachers are trained in the basics within an hour, and are using the more
sophisticated functions within a couple days of use.
You offer productivity and efficiency to any department:  As an audio center for Communications Arts,
Music, ESL, TOEFL, TESL, remedial reading, read-along, and any personal oral testing.
You easily achieve externally certified activities, such as AP® oral exams:  Record students individually at
the console, or by groups to recorders at each student workstation.
You add audio capabilities to any computer lab:  Spectrum is easily
incorporated into any computer lab. When you couple interpersonal
teacher-to-student communication with a LAN computer management
application  – with features such as screen sharing, model student,
keyboard/video/mouse control, and file launch and copy – you have the
                                                 most cost-effective multimedia learning laboratory.
Spectrum grows as your program grows:  Add a computer at the
teacher console and get the convenience of digital and access to
lessons from anywhere in the world.  At the student workstation, connect
computers (or other electronic lesson source) to the student transceiver,
and get the efficiency of independent study.
Use all of your computer’s capabilities:  When you connect a computer, you use digital audio files, but you
can also continue to work at your computer on any other application.
You get ultimate serviceability:  Modular, plug-in, made in USA, components are easily serviced on-site, or
may sent away for service, saving on-site service expense.  Components may also be exchanged; while one
is being repaired, a replacement may take its place.
Best of all, Spectrum is affordable and cost effective:  When increased productivity are factored over the life
of the Spectrum, there can be no better teaching investment, either for your language department or for any
discipline which can use interpersonal teacher-student audio communication.

IN THE CLASSROOM:  START FAST, GO FURTHER
Fast, easy class set up: Spectrum keeps 10 class layouts in memory, so class configurations – student
monitor range/time, volume levels, and lesson source – is set up in seconds.
Quick student-position set up:  Student transceivers are stored in bins in the
cabinet. Distribution is easy, fast, and efficient. A touch of either control button
turns the transceiver on. Simultaneously, the student may confirm the lesson
channel, volume level, and battery power level on the transceiver’s display.
Quick student activity set up:  Once the transceiver is on, getting them on task is
as easy as selecting a lesson channel and starting the lesson source. Just as
easily you do the same with up to five other student groups. When the lesson source
is a computer file, lesson activation is via a few mouse clicks.
Total teacher control:  Any time, during any activity, you may listen to, converse with, or
record any student, pair, or group. Student MONITOR is as easy as selecting a student ID
number at the control panel; INTERCOM is one additional button selection, and record by merely
placing any recording device connected to the system into record mode while you monitor/intercom.
System design specific to how you teach: Spectrum hardware, software, and cabinet are developed
specifically for the school environment.
Your productivity and efficiency only increase:  Spectrum's 900MHz-type systems will be around
as long as computer-based media continues to evolve. Although by itself Spectrum gives you all
the capabilities you need in an audio language lab, adding computers at the student position
adds an entirely new dimension. When you’re ready to do that, we’re ready to help with classroom
network software that lets you use your LAN capabilities as efficiently as Spectrum allows you to
             use your audio/video media.
Unmatched, user-specific support is as close as your phone or
                                                 computer:
For operational, technical questions, or comments and
suggestions, our clients may quickly access -- through toll-free telephone
numbers and the Internet -- our people who can immediately help – usually
                                                 during a single phone call.
